有人跟我一樣深愛這首歌嗎？不誇張的，聽了好幾個月，還是依舊耐聽。在看The Hunger Game的時候，除了欣賞劇情，也等待著這首歌在背景音樂出現。
在2014年六月電影公司宣布Lorde加入原聲帶的錄製團隊。九月時，Lorde 在自己的部落格 Tumblr 寫了” My attempt at getting inside Katniss’s head.”
11月“Yellow Flicker Beat” 正式發行，也是The Hunger Game 的唯一的單曲。
此專輯入選為2014前十大專輯。比之前小弟我介紹的kimbra排名前一名。
Lorde 慶祝18歲生日前夕，她分享了這首歌以及MV拍攝的靈感 “ Yellow flicker beat is about Katniss realizing that things have crossed a line, about being pushed to the edge and right over it.”
這首歌是Lorde 透過The Hunger Game女主角katniss的角度來看“施惠國”的體制以及那荒唐無情的真人廝殺秀。 從第一集到第三集，有看過這部電影的影迷或許也跟我有一樣的想法，整個反抗軍都變調了。而Katniss的存在只限於一個被商標化象徵，僅此而已。說到底，她也只是一個棋子，點燃了人民怒火。她的憐憫善意以及正義只成了文宣工具。
Katiness的意志不斷被消耗的犧牲，但這就是戰爭，人性是被抹滅的。
歌曲一開始，Lorde以低聲悲傷的聲音哼唱著“I'm a princess cut from marble, smoother than a storm."。電子鼓就像是Katiness在進入遊戲前的心跳聲，緊張且平靜。直到副歌的爆發“This is the start of how it all ever ends”。
這裏的End of, 或許是指人性的結束，也可能是說著她那記憶中的故鄉、家人、朋友，她已經回不去了。
的確，第三集的一開始，當Katniss回到自己的故鄉時，才發現故鄉已經毀於一旦。
第二部分描寫Katiness不信任感以及不安全感。人們指著她、對著她說話、寄託希望，只會讓她陷入迷惘。
就如歌詞說的
“But I got my fingers laced together and I made a little prison
And I'm locking up everyone that ever laid a finger on me”
看過MV的人因該有映像。Lorde隻身在派對中，雖然帶著微笑，但她最後卻掉落至自我的無底深淵。
這首歌短短只有三分半，以生動的旋律以及成熟的歌詞獲得好評。(成熟是說Lorde寫詞能力比以往進步很多)。在美國Billboard排名34，算是厲害了！
當然，不好的評價也是有，紐西蘭先驅者評論家Chris Schulz說YFB的風格與Lorde上張專輯的Team過於類似。
但.....對小弟我來說， 一樣的的製作團隊，風格類似也是正常的。 而且...Lorde當時才17歲而已。
